ABC Zone privacy policy
ABC Zone is an English literacy app for children aged 3 to 10, used together with a responsible adult. This policy explains what data we handle, why, and how you control it. It applies to the ABC Zone app on Android and iOS and to the server behind it.
Summary
- We collect no data from the child. The account belongs to the responsible adult.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking. We do not sell or share data.
- We keep only what the account and subscription need to work: email, account identifier and subscription status.
- You can delete the account at any time, inside the app.
Who is responsible
ABC Zone is developed and maintained by the developer identified on the app's Google Play and App Store pages. Privacy contact: abczoneapp@gmail.com.
Data we handle
| Data | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Adult's email | Create the account, sign in, reset the password and link the subscription. | Until the account is deleted. |
| Password | Sign-in. Stored only by Firebase Authentication (Google), hashed; we never see it. | Until the account is deleted. |
| Account identifier | Recognize the account on each server request. | Until the account is deleted. |
| Account and trial dates | Manage the free trial period. | Until the account is deleted. |
| Subscription status (plan, state, store, transaction id, expiry) | Unlock subscription content. Payment goes through Google Play or the App Store; we never receive card data. | Until the account is deleted. |
| App integrity attestation (Firebase App Check) | Confirm requests come from the official app and block abuse. | Not stored: verified and discarded. |
| Technical access logs (IP address, date and time, requested path) | Security and server diagnostics. | Short period; deleted automatically by log rotation. |
Database backups are kept for up to 30 days. After an account is deleted, its data may remain in those backups until they expire, and is not used for any other purpose.
Data that stays on the device
The parents' PIN (stored as a hash), app preferences and audiobooks and activities downloaded for offline use stay only on the device. They are removed when the app is uninstalled or when the account is deleted from the app.
What we do not do
- We do not ask for or store the child's name, age, photo, voice, location or any other data about the child.
- We show no ads and use no third-party analytics, attribution or crash-reporting tools.
- We do not use the advertising identifier and do not track activity across other apps or websites.
- We do not sell, rent or share personal data for commercial purposes.
Children
The app is made for children, but the account is created and managed by the responsible adult. Actions that spend money, open something outside the app or delete data (subscribe, restore purchases, share or print activities, open links and delete the account) require the parents' PIN. We handle data in line with Brazil's LGPD (art. 14) and the US COPPA, always in the child's best interest. If you believe we received a child's data by mistake, write to the contact above and we will delete it.
Who processes the data
We use service providers that process data only to run the app:
- Google Firebase (Authentication and App Check): sign-in and integrity checks.
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, São Paulo region: server, database and content storage.
- Google Play and Apple App Store: subscription billing, under each store's policies.
Some of these services may process data outside Brazil, with the safeguards required by the LGPD.
Your rights and how to delete the account
You may request access, correction, portability or deletion of your data, and information about how it is handled. The fastest way to delete is in the app: parents' area → delete account. Deletion removes the account from the server and from Firebase, and the data on the device. You can also ask by email to abczoneapp@gmail.com from the account's email address; we reply within 15 days.
Deleting the account does not cancel an active subscription. Cancel it first in your Google Play or App Store subscription settings.
Security
All communication between the app and the server uses HTTPS. Access to the server and keys is restricted, and data is kept on access-controlled infrastructure.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with an updated effective date. Material changes will also be announced in the app.
